In practice, the role and functions of our company has changed and can become complex, with Some project requiring additional training and education, so our staff know what service is required.
We must offer a safer workplace, but keep in mind that the security industry and the projects can Include a “reasonable risk” of being hurt as an officer, but through risk management, review and Assessment, we can lower the percentage of risk.
- CONSULTATION
Promote active participation of all workers in WHS decisions.
Consult with workers and give them the opportunity, encouragement, and training to be involved in WHS matters
affecting the organisation and their own work.
Consult with all workers – for example directly through toolbox talks or through a health & safety representative (HSR). As a private security company, we may be required provide:
- Hazard and risk identification
- Control measures for managing hazards
- The development of safe work method statements or risk assessments
- Site specific plans
- Site inductions
- Changes to site conditions or contract obligations
- Emergency service contacts
- COMMUNICATION
Record consultation and communication using:
- Toolbox Talk Forms
- A site diary
- Any document that records WHS Meetings or a Safety Box.
Consultation records should be at least the following information:
- Date
- Location or workplace
- Names and signatures of people present and consulted
- Items or issues raised
- Corrective actions to be undertaken and people responsible for implementing those actions
Our Operating Environment
As a private security company, we have identified several income streams that supports Our capabilities to increase our portfolio of services. These income streams have minimum Investment costs, but with a high return, where funds are used to cover operations.
As most of our project contain a level of risk, we have a risk management officer that will complete a risk assessment of each project site before we accept this site for service. This provides our uniformed staff with an element of safety within the workplace.
We work closely with a small number of security companies that offer services outside our current portfolio. As a team we are able to increase the safer workplace program offered to our staff.
